Surveying and viewing tag values without the OPC client connection allows the OPC server to be initially set (parameter register number setting, etc.) without application of any additional software as well as to diagnose potential problems in the automated system development by separating the SCADA level errors and the device survey errors. Polling tag values of the device at varying intervals increases the speed of reading of critical parameters by reducing the frequency of reading of less important (or rarely changing) parameters. Configuration import/export into the CSV format (with the possibility of its further editing and processing in Excel) significantly accelerates the configuring process.
OPC server operation logging.įeatures: Automatic search for connected devices reduces the time required for arranging a hard-wired connection of devices to the computer as well as for configuring the OPC server. The Modbus TCP/IP driver features multiple, simultaneous client and server connections for faster data transmission. Ability to operate at a broadcast address. Ability to survey and view tag values without the OPC client connection. Configuration import/export in the CSV format (with a report file formatting). Service operation function (Windows OS Service). Interaction with the OPC clients in accordance with the OPC DA specifications, version 2.05a. Opportunity to poll tag groups of the device at varying intervals. Opportunity to use an extended list of communication channel types (CSD, GPRS, etc.), using the Modem Communication Channel Module special software. Supported communication channels: COM port, TCP connection. Key functions: Supported protocols: MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP, MODBUS ASCII.
When the installation is finished the OAS Service Control application will appear. The OPC server provides the OPC clients (any advanced SCADA systems, e.g., SCADA KRUG-2000) with an access to devices, supporting the MODBUS protocol. Select the default Typical installation if you are not sure what features to use or the Custom installation if you want to save disk space on the target system. INGEAR Modbus OPC provides OPC standard connectivity for Modbus devices and controllers.
On Windows run the downloaded Setup.exe file to install one or more of the Open Automation Software features.
Fully functional trial versions of the software are available for Windows, Windows IoT Core, Linux, Raspberry Pi and Docker on our downloads page. If you have not already done so, you will need to download and install the OAS platform. Download and Install the Open Automation Software and Start the OAS Service This tutorial walks you through downloading and installing OAS, configuring a Modbus and an OPC UA driver, configuring Modbus and OPC UA tags and implementing Data Route.
Open Automation Software can be used to transfer data from Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, and Modbus ASCII devices to OPC UA servers, locally or over a network.
